Questions buyers ask

Do I need to register before bidding?

Yes. Every bidder registers in advance with ID and FICA documents and receives a bidder number. You can register online in a few minutes.

Can I buy with a bond?

Yes, but arrange pre-approval beforehand. Auction sales usually have a short period to provide a bank guarantee, so your finance should be ready on the day.

Are there costs on top of my bid?

Each auction has its own conditions of sale, which set out any commission or fees payable by the buyer. Read them in the info pack before you bid.

What happens when the hammer falls?

The highest bidder signs the sale agreement on the day, subject to the conditions of sale and any seller confirmation period stated in them.
